316L Stainless Steel
Solid hypoallergenic 316L surgical steel, the same grade used for watch cases and surgical instruments: waterproof, sweat-proof, and scratch-resistant. There is no plating to wear through, because the colour is the metal. It will not rust, tarnish, or turn your skin green.
18K Gold
Real 18K gold bonded to hypoallergenic 316L surgical steel using next-gen PVD technology for a waterproof, sweat-proof, and scratch-resistant shine that never fades. Most men's gold chains are 14K. This one is 18K: more gold, warmer, richer.

Is the 8mm Legacy Chain made with real gold?
Yes. The gold finish is real 18K gold, bonded to solid 316L surgical steel with next-gen PVD technology. Most men's gold chains at this price are 14K. Ours is 18K, so it runs warmer and richer.
Will the colour fade, tarnish, or turn my skin green?
No. The silver is raw 316L surgical steel, so there is no plating to wear through. The black and gold are PVD-bonded, which is not paint and does not chip off. All three are hypoallergenic and will not rust, tarnish, or mark your skin.
Can I shower, swim, or work out in it?
All of it. 316L surgical steel is waterproof and sweat-proof, so you can train in it, shower in it, and sleep in it. Most guys never take it off.
How many names can I put on it?
Up to eight. Each pendant is laser-engraved with one full name, not an initial. Engraving is always free, no matter how many you choose.
Can the names actually be read?
Yes. The pendants on the 8mm are bigger than our older chain, so the names read across a table instead of needing a squint.
What if a name gets spelled wrong?
You will see it before that can happen. Type the names and we show you the exact engraving on the actual pendant before you pay. What you approve is what we engrave. If what arrives does not match your approved preview, we re-engrave it free.
Can I engrave on both sides?
Yes. Place your order, then email support@engraving-jewelry.com and we will set it up.
Can I add more names later?
Yes. Once you own the chain you can order extra pendants on their own, so you can add a name whenever your family grows.
How long and how heavy is it?
The chain is 8mm wide and 60cm long, which sits just below the collarbone on most men. It weighs around 71-73 grams of solid steel based on choosen color. Nothing hollow. You feel it the moment you pick it up.
Does it come ready to gift?
Yes. It ships in our matte black presentation box, engraved and ready to hand over. Nothing to wrap, nothing to add.
How fast will it arrive?
We engrave your chain in our Indianapolis shop within 24 hours of you approving the preview. Standard shipping is free and takes 2 to 4 days. Express is 1 to 2 days.
What if it doesn't fit, or I change my mind?
You have 60 days. Send the chain back and we refund it in full. The engraved pendants stay with you, because a name cannot go back on a shelf.
What if it breaks or the finish wears?
Every chain is covered for three years. Any material or manufacturing defect, including fading or discolouration, and we replace it at no cost.
